How do the truths in this chapter apply to your personal spiritual life?

I loved the portion talking about how in order to experience the joy we must seek the humility.  It is not about us, but the glory of Christ.

2.     How do the truths in this chapter apply to your leadership role within Classical Conversations?

To lead in a humble way not letting pride of position rule decisions, but seek God’s approval in all things first and foremost

3.     What parallels in literature do you see that apply or reference these same truths from this chapter?

This reminds me of one of my favorite verse in scripture. 

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
